Mr. You
The lyrics were written during my 1st year of studying in JC when I was getting really REALLY irritated by a good friend of mine who was getting confused and decided he liked me (when obviously i wasn't his type). Yet because we were friends,
I wasn't that all persuasive to make him realise his mistake. Outright bitchiness wasn't gonna solve the problem as well, so this song marks my amused and exasperated plea to him to one day see his folly. But of course, he never heard it. He did, though,
get attached a while later with someone else, to my relief.
If i were to write a letter to C, I figured it would go something like that:
Dear C,
I'm sorry that I had to use you as inspiration for a song that many of my dearest friends love. To think that you haven't heard it, or rather, even heard about it, I do feel bad. Sometimes. But sometimes, when I perform this song with the boys, I somehow feel glad that you don't even know about it. Because the way we've shaped and presented the song has made MR.YOU sound like a rather sad character.I know what you're made of C, and I'm glad no one knows who's Mr.You, you don't deserve the pain. Not when we've all been guilty of being Mr.You's during our raging hormonal peak period! HA! In any case, here's the lyrics to YOUR song, enjoy!
Warmest Regards,
Renny
Mr. You
Hey Mr. you, Have you ever wondered Why I’m always busy when you try to Get me out for a ride Hey Mr. you Have you ever understood Why I’m always trying to Get myself out of your sight
**Isn’t it obvious I’m not being flirtatious When I tell you we’re Impossible You’re delirious When you think I’m still available Isn’t it obvious There’s me but there’s no us Wake up today You have no place in my heart.**
Hey Mr. you Have you ever sensed my dislike When I smile at the guys but never at you Can’t you look at the signs?
Hey Mr. you Have you ever thought it through The world has countless fishes in it I’d be your yesterday’s dish
**
Maybe we could be friends All the way till the end Brother sister, Sister brother I graciously accept
**
Wake up today you have no place in my heart.
